Monochrome Photography
Monochrome is the original form of photography. Photographer legends, like Ansel Adams, photographed their most iconic images in monochrome. The same thing that made monochrome images legendary then still applies today. There are professional photographers today who do not use monochrome beacause it is considered too difficult and can look very bland if done wrong. Great monochrome images need contrast. Dark shadows, lit highlights, and darkened skies give a monochrome image its classic look. Just like an old noir movie, these elements are what sets good monochrome images apart from the bland ones.
